First picking up a camera aged 7, Ivor progressed from using that point-and-shoot TLR, via SLRs to digital and, recently, back to film again.

For enjoyment, he shoots mostly seascapes but dabbles in a bit of wildlife and street photography too. Professionally, he is usually engaged for shooting business portraits, events, real estate, and products, plus he keeps his hand in shooting a few weddings each year, though he is trying to give those up.

Photo restoration is another area of work he finds rewarding and is currently carrying out a project preserving and restoring hundreds of old photos dating back to the mid-1800s.

But he gets the most joy from encouraging others to excel in the art. Several of his clients have gone on to become successful photographers.

Ivor also writes and is not scared to challenge commonly held misbeliefs.

He has lived in England, Scotland, Tanzania, Spain, and back in England again. He's happily married and has an adult son. He plays guitar, sings very badly, and occasionally writes songs. Ivor enjoys hillwalking, sailing, and canoeing (although rarely gets the chance these days), and wishes he had more time to dabble in the dark room.
